Second Grade Discipline Plan

The second grade discipline plan is based on the school-wide system of colors.  The detailed plan as we will use it in second grade is explained below.  Please note that appropriate and clear warnings will be given before cards are changed for behaviors such as talking at inappropriate times.  Certain behaviors such as throwing something in the classroom will mean automatic card changes without a warning. More severe behaviors such as fighting may mean an automatic detention or suspension.

The student begins each day on a green card.

The student is given a yellow card for inappropriate behavior.

*The consequence for a yellow card is five minutes of time-out during

the next recess and/or an other appropriate consequence.

The student is given a red card for a second inappropriate behavior.

*The consequence for a red card is 10 minutes of time out

during the next recess and/or another appropriate consequence.

The student is given an orange card after a third inappropriate

                                behavior.

*The consequence for an orange card is a time out for an entire

recess and/or another appropriate consequence as well as a meeting

                                with the principal.

The student is given a pink card after a fourth inappropriate behavior

and the meeting with the principal.

*The consequence for a pink card is a Saturday detention and time

out for the entire next recess. After the student receives a pink card

they start over on the discipline chart in consequences, although

their detention and time outs remain. The student may receive more

than one detention in a school day.

Memory Work due May 17:

Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.

2nd Article. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
